Who we are

A mission rooted in the community

The Islamic Charitable Society was established in Beit Sahour in 1958 in response to the community’s need for sustainable educational and social services. Education was central from the beginning, first through a kindergarten and later a primary school, while the Society’s role expanded to include community facilities, activities and development services.

ICS views people as both the drivers and the purpose of development. Its work seeks to strengthen community resilience, build capacity, widen access to education and encourage active participation, with particular attention to children, lower-income families and people facing greater need.

Registered with the Palestinian Ministry of Interior under BL-365-C and the Ministry of Social Development under No. 148
